Music time

Hi, guys today in music we had to make two slide shows about a famous New Zealand artist and a band. In that slide show, we needed to include where they came from which is New Zealand, whats their real name, When were they born and how many awards have they won. The two that I did was Six60 and Lorde. Did you know when Six60 started? Well, they started in 2008. Also a fun fact about Lorde her real name is Ella. Anyways here are my two slide shows about the band Six60 and the artist Lorde.  

            

Smile

It was my birthday but it didn't feel like it. I was sitting on the dining table depressed as I look at all my friends were playing around, yelling and didn't even care about me (the birthday girl!) As I look beside me and I finally see some joy. It was a lemon cake with six fiery candles. I put my hands on the table then take a deep breath in ready to blow my candles and make a wish. I knew what my wish was! Then one of my friends came in and did it for me. My only piece of joy was gone.

As everyone started to give me there presents I got something from my dad it was unusual. In a white box was a yellow bow. He usually gives me more than this. Maybe I was wrong. Anyway, I put the lid back on while I see dad go out of the room. My head says to me "Where is he going?" He comes back in with a golden retriever. For a minute's everything went black but the golden retriever shined like a star. Dad came closer and put him on my lap. As soon as he did then the dog started to lick me. I put the yellow bow on him. I instantly have a name for him! It's called "Mello." Dad takes a photo and puts the photo on the shelf.

As time went by we started to measure Mello and me. I grew taller and so did he. He also got new toys and furniture. It was August 1904.

I was in high school and it was P.E and we were playing soccer we got to choose our teams. Of couse, the popular girls chose the teams. Everyone was chosen except for me. I was the last chosen. So that very day I went home and I practised playing soccer with Mello. Whenever I'm with Mello I feel complete and cheerful.

The next day it was photo day and I was chosen to hold the ball and sit in the middle. Yes but then guess what happened the popular girls took my spotlight and then I got put on the side. Then 
something else happened the photographer told me to smile with teeth. Well, I did it and everyone was laughing at me about my braces.

I ran home and cried on the couch. Then I saw Mello scratching the door telling me to open it. I did and then sat on the couch again. He stared at me for a while and made me laugh. I hid my laugh by my hand. Then he took my hand off my mouth. I smiled. I try to make him do a trick but he doesn't.

I check if he is ok but he isn't. He has to take medicine. After 3 months.

I see Mello lying on the ground. He looked sick. I call dad. He comes rushing through the door. He goes on one knee to see if his ok. Dad says "we need to go to the vet NOW."

At the vet the nurse has a look she say he will not make it. He has to die. I cry in such sadness. The mello starts to lick my hand. I suddenly feel happy. Then dad say "it's time for him to go." Dad picks him up and walks away. 

After 20 years 

It was my daughter birthday and she was having a great time. It was time to give the present. My dad went first. For her it would be grandad. He gives a box which has a bow. She was confused. The dad comes in the room with a golden retriever. I smile and a tear drops down me face.

Kiwi Kaha!

Hi, guys today I am talking about Kiwi Kaha. If you do know what Kiwi Kaha is it is when two people come to our school and teach us how to respect, be kind and much more. Also, we get points at the end of every season and try to fill up a bucket with points. Our class go our bucket filled. When it gets filled up all of the classes have a challenge. It is like "Minute To Win It." So today was the day we got to do all of the thoughts challenge. So here is how it works. So for one challenge, someone has to come up from every class.

Mean, Median and Mode

Hi, guys today I will be writing the meaning of Mean, Median and Mode. So Mean, Median and Mode are used in maths for Statistics. Here is the meaning of Mean, Median and Mode.

Mean: 

The meaning of mean is when you have a sum and you are dividing the number. (It can also be called "Average.")

For example:  

What is the average of these 5 students? 

10, 9, 11, 11, 9 

11 + 9 = 20 + 11 = 31 + 9 = 40 + 10 = 50 

50 ÷ 5 = 10 

Median: 

The meaning of median is when you have the number that comes in the middle of a set of numbers when they are arranged in order.

Step 1. 9, 3, 4, 5, 10, 5, 2, 1, 7

Step 2. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 5, 7, 9, 10

That is the answer.

Mode:

The meaning of mode is easy it is just with have some numbers that appear most often in a set of data.

The most number is seen there is 9km.

New Hurumanu

New Hurumanu 

Hello, bloggers of the world on Tuesday we started our new Hurumanu which is P.E! Yeah! So for P.E, the teachers we have are Mr Goodfellow and Miss Tozer. The first game we played was "Bench Ball." Have you played Bench Ball? Here are some key things we are learning about during this Hurumanu are.

- How we can show commitment to the physical activity.

- The history of particular games.
- How we can communicate well when working in a team.

Music Activity/ Simple Sentence

Hi, guys today I am going to be writing how a boring sentence can become an interesting paragraph. Let's go. 

Aim: To make a boring sentence into an interesting paragraph.

1. The music was loud.

2. The music was wild!

3. The music was wild as I walked past the bar after school.

4.  The music was wild as I walked past the bar after school. 

5. The music was wild as I walked past the bar after school. Seeing them singing the same song.  

6. The music was wild as I walked past the bar after school. Seeing them singing the same song for someone's birthday! I was happy for them! 

Conclusion 

I feel like I did a great job and it was more interesting then I thought it would be. 

Pop Quiz

Hi guys, today I am going to be doing a pop quiz on music. That is our next hurumanu! We have to answer four questions. All of them are about music. Lest go!

1. What is music and what types are there? - Music is a sound of beats and vocals. There are different types of music like Rap, Rock Music, Pop, Classic and Acoustic.
