Aim; To look at the different ways we can't prevent climate change in the future.

Name 3 fossil fuels?

What is the cost?
Carbon Dioxide is trapping heat which is making earth hotter.

The CO2 level has soured since when?

Since the start of the industrial revolution. 

What are the effects in the UK?

  1.  Heat Waves    
  2.  Animals Extinction 
  3.  Human-driven from home 
How many climate refugees will there be in Britain by 2050?
200 million refugees by 2050. 

When will Fairborn be flooded?
In the next 26 years, it will be flooded. 

What are some of the other things that will be 'swallowed by the waves'?
  1.  Power Stations   
  2.  Gas Plants
  3.  Toxic Dumps
How can we stop climate change?
  1.    Replacing gas heating/boilers in 25 million homes 
  2.    Every car, bus and transport need to use hydrogen or batteries. 
  3.    Fly less
  4.    Cut back on meat consumption 

What ideas are school children having about climate change?
  1.  The important's of children voting     
  2.  People can protest 
  3.  Write letters 
What is the atmosphere called?
A Waste Dump

What is the last statement the reporter made?
We know what we need to do, we have got the technology. What we lack is political will.


How is sea-level rise going to affect us in NZ?


What places will be affected?
All around the coast of New Zealand. 

What else do we need to think about?
Building houses by the shore. 

What other places around NZ will be affected?
Pacific Islands, like Fiji, Tonga and more.

What does this do to our drinking water?
Put salt in the drinking water. 

What are the main concerns?

There is no one silver bullet.  

What is the mix of things we need to start doing?
  1.  Using Renewable energy  
  2.  Use solar energy - Batteries
  3.  Use electrical transports

  1.    Using less plastic 
  2.    Eating less meat
  3.    Recycling

  1. Rice Noodles

  4.  Fish Sauce
  5. Thai basil
  6. Tofu
  7. Palm Suger
  8. Tamari 
  9. Shallots
  10. Fettuccine 
  11. Lemon
  • How is the food packaged? 
            Recycling a takeaway container. 

  • What resources do you need to produce this food item (e.g. land, water, oil, food, etc.)?  
Land - To grow the vegetables needed.
Water - To not be dry
Oil - To cook it easier
Food - Rice Noodles, Tamari, Fettuccine 
  • Would this item have been processed? 
Some of the ingredients are processed but not all is processed.  

  • Is there anything unique or significant about the food item (e.g. fair-trade, local)? 
Its is popular in Thailand dish and very well known.   
  • What else do you notice about this food that affects its climate friendliness? 
There are lots of vegetables so it makes it ecofriendly.   
  • Do you think this food is climate-friendly (Circle)?       YES   NO 

  • Why? Because it has meat and fish sauce. 

  • If no, what would be a better alternative?  Vegan Pad Thai.
